Get To Know Dr. Katie James

Dr. James is a Texas native, and she grew up just north of Dallas, in Plano, Texas. She has a special approach to dentistry because of the many hours she spent in the dental chair as a child and young adult. Her teeth suffered trauma at the ripe age of 4, later requiring extensive orthodontic treatment, and reconstructive jaw surgery to correct a congenital jaw defect and a less-than-ideal bite.

Dr. James believes that it is truly a privilege to be able to provide treatment and education for her patients and their families. Dr. James enjoys all aspects of general dentistry, and seeing patients of all ages with diverse dental needs. Katie and her husband Daniel, who works in marketing, have been married since 2015. The two actually graduated from high school together, but they did not meet until several years later when they were introduced by mutual friends. Katie and Daniel enjoy an active lifestyle, and whether it’s skiing or hiking, they love to be outdoors with their precious daughter, Devyn.

Dr. James is a big fan of stand-up comedy and live music, and she loves to explore the never ending Austin restaurant scene. In her free time, she loves to travel, read, watch movies, and cuddle with her rescue chug Polly, and two rescue kitties, Sasha and Lucy. She also has a passion for interior design, architecture, photography, and supporting small businesses whenever she can.

At Pecan Park Family Dentistry, our goal is to provide our patients with a relaxing, comfortable, and trustworthy experience at every appointment. We focus on educating patients about their complete oral health while providing consistently exceptional dental care.

Our office environment should bring joy and security to the lives of our patients, our team members, and our greater community. We strive to be transparent with our patients about how and what we diagnose, with all financial transactions and arrangements, and to treat all patients with the same consideration and integrity.

What Patients Can Expect

When you first walk through our doors, you’ll be greeted by our comfortable environment and our friendly office staff. You’ll be invited to sit down and relax as you fill out any new patient forms prior to your appointment. Once those are complete and your hygienist is ready for you, we’ll invite you back into one of our operatories.

If you’re taking advantage of our new patient special, you’ll receive a comprehensive exam, x-rays, periodontal assessment, and dental prophylaxis, after which your doctor will sit down with you to discuss the results. If everything looks good, you’ll be able to schedule your next appointment in the front office. If anything needs extra attention, Dr. James or Dr. Wang will explain the results and take time to address any questions or concerns you might have, and they will describe any further treatment recommendations.

The Pecan Park Family Dentistry office is equipped with all of the best technology and amenities to promote your comfort and total well-being. We believe investing in your smile is vitally important, so we’ve done all we can to make sure you actually enjoy visiting the dentist! The office is full of calming sounds, smells, and lights that promote relaxation, as well as TVs in all of our operatories. We offer patients the latest in technology to make a dental appointment as efficient, pleasant, and predictable as possible. This includes digital scanning, same day crowns, and CBCT 3D imaging.

Our philosophy of care goes beyond our office walls. We believe that it’s our responsibility to care for our patients, both in and out of the dental chair, and one of the best ways to do this is through our community outreach programs.
